Yosemite nearly 50 years ago!!  “Yosemite Sentinel” was published by Yosemite Park and Curry Company for the information of residents of Yosemite National Park. Approximately 11” x 8 1/2”. Usually 4 pages. These are all of the 1974 issues that I have and include: December 6, 13, 20, and 27. (See scans of the front page of each.) December 6 has “Vol. II” on the front which actually appears to be issue #2, so I assume the first issue of the resurrected Sentinel was November 29. (See attached scan of an article about “The Birth of The Sentinel”) NOTE: I have various issues through 1978. I will continue to list all the copies I have for each year as a “lot” on eBay, so please watch for those if interested in what was happening in the Yosemite “community” nearly 50 years ago.
BACKGROUND: The Yosemite Sentinel started in 1941 as a mimeographed newsletter. It became a glossy 4 page publication in 1960. The “last issue” was October 17, 1969. But it was obviously resurrected in 1974, if not before. It is fascinating reading because it included so much current information, but both concession employees as well as NPS. Also covered the ski club (Winter Club), Yosemite school, things people had for sale, courses being offered by Merced College, and the “Community Calendar”. The range is very broad.

RETURN POLICY: I make every effort to write accurate listings and include images of the items I am selling. I also try to package things for mailing so they will arrive in their as-listed condition. Please ask questions ahead of time and pay for insurance if you want it. I will refund purchase price and initial shipping on an item the buyer has a legitimate reason for not accepting.
