This is a rare September 10th, 1941 "Playgoer" playbill from the National Tour engagement of DOROTHY and DuBOSE HEYWARD play with music "MAMBA'S DAUGHTERS" at the Biltmore Theatre in Los Angeles, California. (The production opened January 3rd, 1939 at New York's Empire Theatre and ran for 162 performances, closing in May 1939 for a hiatus and national tour. The play reopened at New York's Broadway Theatre March 23rd, 1940 for an additional 17 performances before returning to the road.) ..... DETAILS: The 40 page playbill measures 5 3/4" X 8 3/8" inches and includes full production credits, cast list, synopsis of scenes, bios of each of the leading actors and wonderful vintage advertising but with the exception of the front cover, no cast photos ..... CONDITION: With the exception of edge tearing and minor staining to two inside pages (appears to have been a printing issue) and minor edge wear, this playbill is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective, carded sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
