The PW5K1R2 interfaces with the PW5000 Intelligent Control Module (PW5K1IC) providing I/O support for two card readers. The PW5K1R2 is connected to the PW5K1IC Intelligent Control Module through a supervised RS-485 bus at 38,400 bps. It provides two Wiegand format reader ports, up to eight supervised inputs and up to six relay outputs.
Hardware interface configuration and card format settings are loaded from the connected intelligent control module. In the event that the communication to a PW5K1IC is lost, the PW5K1R2 can grant access based on facility code.
The PW5K1R2 is designed to be wall or rack mounted for maximum density, or tile mounted to save on cost when it is remotely located near the devices to be controlled.
