After having laundromats in the family for over twenty five years, Ernie (owner of D&E) started rebuilding dryer computers for a friend, Dave. What he discovered was that when an expensive computer failed, it was usually due to a minor part causing major problems. The manufacturer included a few components that were running continuously
at
their rated capacity. (The usual standard is 80% or less, so they don't burn out.) The computers were built to be very robust, except for a few parts or physically weak points ensuring that they would fail, but in a controlled manor.
How a Rebuilt Part Can be Better Than New
Dave was a fellow laundromat owner and friend. Ernie knew that Dave would want his computers repaired the same way that Ernie would want for his own laundromats.
The first thing was to identify the problems and repair/upgrade those.
Next was to upgrade the borderline parts – even if they were still good, to prevent problems.
The computer was thoroughly tested, repaired further if needed, and retested.
Upgrades of some weak points that were designed into your computer (see photos also):
The relay circuit is "beefed up" to carry the current for the motor without overheating and breaking down
The blue resistors shown in the photos are 1 Watt, and 1/2 Watt metal film resistors. These replace the 1/4 Watt carbon film (graphite) resistors that were used by the manufacturer. These are resistors that run at their rated capacities, overheat, and burn out. If you check your board, you will see the scorch marks. Our upgraded replacement resistors
never
burn out!  This is done for every computer rebuilt.
Other,
proprietary
upgrades. Some upgrades are not obvious but even more important. I expect our competitors to copy the resistors, etc. eventually.  It will be more difficult to copy the ones they cannot see.
After twenty-three years, D&E still takes the same approach to quality, reliability, and especially getting your machines up and running quickly. Because of this, D&E introduced the one year warranty when the standard was only ninety days.

A shipping label will be mailed to you for you to use to send in your computer.
Pack your computer(s) so they are protected, attach the label and ship
For faster service:
The shipping label can emailed to your paypal email address. Shipping listed is for BOTH WAYS.
You
must
specify if you would like the shipping label emailed by sending a message
, otherwise it will be mailed. There is no additional charge for emailing the label to you, and it is much faster. Just print it out, attach it to the box, and drop it off, or have your mail carrier pick it up.
Please note:  This special price is for you to send in your computer, have it rebuilt, and returned to you. The shipping listed is for shipping both ways:  sending it to us
and
having it shipped back to you. Once we receive it, turn around is usually 3 - 5 business days.

If your computer is not repairable:
Occasionally (less than 5%) a computer is unrepairable. In that case, you have the choice of a 90% refund, or full credit toward
another service or  parts that we offer.
