We offer for your consideration this vintage survey instrument.
AQUA SURVEY COMPASS NO. 2775736 INSTRUMENT CO. CINCINNATI, OHIO Aqua Survey and Instrument Co Utility Locator Device w/Leather Case. This vintage instrument is offered in good used condition.It comes in its' original leather case, and is fairly clean with wear.This instrument and case are in GOOD USED condition. The made in Cincinnati ones I'm told are far more rare. It is not tested. I have not tested and it may need repair or re-calibrated. They are still used today and are considered to be a highly valued tool." Untested. Good used condition. Leather case is intact But the strap is missing. "The Aqua Locator includes a carrying case.
Mr. Pies filed a patent application for the Aqua Locator on October 18, 1954, and Patent No. 2,775,736 was granted on December 25, 1956. The patent was assigned to a partnership (Aqua Survey & Instrument Company), and production of the Aqua Locator began in Cincinnati.1960's version - Aqua Magnetic Locator - locates valve boxes, surveyors stakes, manhole covers, and other concentrated ferrous metal objects.
